We're STILL in the world cup!!

I am very proud to be South African at the moment, its all so exciting. I am such a Soccer FAN!!! I spent the last two weeks in Pretoria training and I have really soaked up the great spirits of everyone and the amazing atmosphere around me resulting from the world cup games in and around Pretoria, Johannesburg and further north. I have never ever watched an entire game of soccer until this year. Now I cant stop following all the games and cheering for different countries along the way. I watched two games live, one at Ellis park and the other at the Royal Bafokeng stadium in Rustenburg. I made sure I dressed for the occasion in the correct attire to support one of the teams playing. First I was supporting Spain and then I was supporting Uruguay and I am still supporting them along with Argentina and of course Ghana as they are the last African country in the top 8. I guess I will have to choose one of them eventually!!
My physio trips to the HPC this week have also been very interesting as there is always a camera crew outside. One day they even asked if I had seen Maradona and if I know when he is coming out... I should of made up a big story but I was polite and told I had no idea... I am not sad to be kicked out of the gym at the HPC now as I think its great to have the Argentinian National soccer team staying there and training as its a great facility and I am very fortunate to be sponsored by the HPC and be able to have access to all their wonderful facilities. Good Luck to the teams in the top 8 of the 2010 Soccer world cup in South Africa, its going to be an exciting sporting weekend!! Maybe I will be flying back with one of the teams on Sunday night as I am departing for training camp in Hungary for 6 weeks before world champs in August.
